2-Factor Authentication
There are major developments in
Authentication including:-
- OTP (One time Password)
- PKI (Certificate based)
- Hard Tokens (USB or Cards)
- Soft tokens (software running
on mobile devices e.g. phones, tablets and no need for an additional token)
- Management
- Integration of mobile devices (tablets, smart phones) into the network.
Using just passwords to control access to
your systems and data is not normally considered sufficient these days. As the
demand for access grows, a more secure approach is required. 2-Factor authentication is the preferred
solution (a combination of “something you know”
- normally a password and “something only you have” – like a security token,
fingerprint).
